LJ Couture

I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch party of LJ couture this weekend.

For those of you who are not familiar with this company, here is a small description of what they are all about:

LJ Couture specialize in made to measure, bespoke, Crystal embellished dresses for all occasions and each dress is available in over 90 colours. All dresses are fully lined and boned and are designed by the owner herself.  If you do not wish to have a crystalised dress, you can also chose from Matsuno beads, pearls or Italian lace.

The owner of LJ Couture, Lisa Hendy, was interviewed recently by RM Magazine. One of the questions asked, was what inspired her to start LJ Couture.  Here is Lisa’s response:

“It all started when I had a special event to attend and went on the hunt for the ‘perfect dress’. After trying on what seemed like a hundred dresses that didn’t fit perfectly and weren’t the right colour or style, it dawned on me that I was in-between sizes and very fussy! That’s when the light bulb moment happened. Having studied art at school and college and always having a great interest in fashion designing, I took pencil to paper to perfect a dress. I wore my dress to the special event and the compliments I received that night left me speechless. I wanted other girls to feel the same. Their compliments gave me the inspiration to start L J Couture.

And aren’t we glad that Lisa was in between sizes and fussy ! As without this, we wouldn’t be able to purchase her beautiful designs today. Although, with over 90 colours to chose from and satin or chiffon material to chose too, it maybe quite difficult to pick just one dress !

LJ Couture launched it’s official website this week, http://www.ljcouture.co.uk/ All dresses range from £160-£290 and will take around 6-8 weeks to make.

LJ Couture are also hoping to showcase their designs at Essex Fashion week in October this year and hope to open their very own boutique in early 2013.

LJ Couture launch party:

The launch took place in Luxe Nightclub in Essex. I got to meet Lisa herself who was exceptionally friendly and looked beautiful in her LJ Couture dress. There were also around 6-7 models there, that each had their very own made to measure dress on. They all looked amazing !

I was invited to celebrate with them with a glass of vodka & lemonade (they know how to please the Welsh haha) and was also given an LJ Couture goodie bag which consisted of, jewellery, hair products, soap, false lashes, cupcakes, charms and magazines.

Here are some photos of the night:

Thank you to LJ Couture for inviting me and making me feel so welcome !
